Love at first sight.

You may be a hopeless romantic or a cynical realist, you may or may not believe in love at first sight, but when it comes to you, it comes to you, no matter your beliefs, situation, date, or time.

It feels like:

There's a reason it's called love at first sight. You know it when it hits you, whether through firsthand experience or thirdhand. But you feel different; it's something you notice instantly.

Some people blush or become extremely nervous, others stutter, and some feel butterflies in their stomach. You may find yourself smiling nonstop or laughing almost involuntarily at every comment that resembles a joke.

Depending on the type of person, you may not even be able to make or maintain eye contact, but meeting someone else's eyes can be a challenging activity for many reasons.

You may get lost in their gaze and not know what to say, you may get so absorbed in their eyes that you lose track of the conversation, or of course, you may find their gaze charmingly intimidating and seductive and can't stand that kind of eye contact for long.

Love:

Whatever the reaction, you'll know it when you feel it—it will be different, special, unique. However, how can you tell if it's love at first sight or pure physical or sexual attraction?

That's the trick. Because throughout our lives, we're destined to encounter all kinds of people: tall or short, thin or wide, etc., regardless of whether they're considered attractive or not under the globally established beauty standards. If we like them, we like them; each of us has our own particular style.

So how do we make sure it's love at first sight or not attraction?

Easy (linked to the previous point), it's different. It feels just like we described it here a few lines ago. You'll know when it comes up, whether it's your first time experiencing it or your second or third.

She's more than just a pretty person to you and you know it.

Chemistry. The other extremely important aspect is that you immediately feel the chemistry between you. Your conversations are nonstop or develop so organically. Even touching hands feels like electricity runs through your bodies.

The vibe or energy when they are together in the same room or area changes completely in a positive way, etc., etc.

And there is no escape:

There's simply no turning back, if you're one of the lucky ones to experience these sensations, congratulations and good luck.

Because love at first sight is no guarantee of your soulmate, it's not forever, it's not an obligation, it's not meant to be.

Like any good relationship, it requires daily work, nurturing, and improving. It's wonderful to experience all of this, especially if it's the first time, but be careful not to obsess or accept things you don't want to in order to preserve that "love at first sight."

Always think of yourself first, love the other person, but never more than yourself.
